Documentaries & Films
We have produced global documentaries with the Discovery Channel and hundreds of continuing education programs for professional caregivers, first responders, and the general public.

Our series of bystander rescue care films will be found on multiple streaming services. One of the first of the series will be 3 Minutes & Counting: Surfers Care. We showcase what non-medical first responders can do to save lives. In the surfing episode, we will address the preventable deaths and life-threatening emergencies that may occur with all surfers. We use powerful stories illustrating what can befall children, youth, adults, and seniors. With more than 100 wave pools being built around the world and aquatic adventurers seeking the most remote locations to practice their sport, we meet an growing need in the marketplace. Action video from our work at World Surf League competitions, the 2024 Olympics, and our courses will be used to tell stories that will empower a growing demographic.

Our Discovery Channel film, Surfing the Healthcare Tsunami: Bring Your Best Board featured the safety issues that board of directors of healthcare organizations could do to deal with the cost pressures of pay-for-performance and the demands of employers for better safety. Movie actor Dennis Quaid champions the cause as he did in our first film. The story of the near-death experience of his twins as told by him at national meetings of suppliers, caregivers, and purchasers help drive the message. We include segments shot by our team of Dennis on the set of Soul Surfer on the North Shore of Hawaii. Soul Surfer is the story of Bethany Hamilton who survived and even thrived after a shark attack where she lost her arm and returned to the pro circuit. GE was our main sponsor. It was premiered at the National Press Club.

Our first Discovery Channel film, Chasing Zero: Winning the War on Healthcare Harm addressed the magnitude of medical error in the U.S. and around the world. Dennis Quaid narrates the film which opens with the life-threating near death of his 11 day old twins. It was shot in Switzerland at the World Health Organization, in Paris, the UK, in Boston at Harvard affiliated hospitals, Johns Hopkins, Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, Southern California, and Hawaii. We used 6 powerful stories to illustrate how the best leaders in healthcare were working to bring their errors and adverse events to zero. The film and companion training program is still being used across the world. CareFusion, now a subsidiary of BD and Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) were our sponsors.
3 Minutes and Counting is our documentary in production that addresses the critical need for Automated External Defibrillators and Stop the Bleed kits within 3 minutes of initiating care for victims of sudden cardiac arrest or traumatic injury. It tells the stories of Good Samaritan heroes who have saved the lives of others through bystander care. Three lives have been saved by our instructors in the community.
