Med Tac College Scholarships
The students below are being awarded the Med Tac College Scholarships. Their commitment to helping others by teaching bystander rescue care is inspiring and will save lives.
My name is Adeline Hlava, and I am a junior at Laguna Beach High School. At my school, I have been a member of Model United Nations and the Mock Trial team since freshman year. Additionally, I am currently a Star Scout in Troop 35, and I have been an active member since 2020. The MedTac student outreach program aligns with my goals and values as a student, citizen, and scout. After high school, I aim to study in a health field and attend pharmacy school. As an active member of my community, I want others to feel confident in their abilities to help people when they need it most. Programs like Scouts BSA have taught me what to do in an emergency; Model United Nations has taught me that I thrive in leadership roles. Service to others is not only beneficial to society but to oneself. MedTac’s program grants individuals the ability to save lives through bystander care, which has an immeasurable impact on our world. Given this, I am eagerly looking forward to participating in the MedTac program at Laguna Beach High School.
My name is Heidi Beshk, and I am freshman at St. Margaret’s Episcopal School. Service and leadership have always played important roles in my life. As a counselor at Special Camp in San Juan Capistrano, I am blessed to work with and learn from the campers with special needs. In addition to volunteering at Special Camp, I am a lead Counselor in Training (CIT) at a local summer camp for children in grades k-2. As a student athlete, I have been a member of both the St. Margaret’s cross country and track teams since Middle School. My passions extend beyond the cross-country trails as I am actively involved in the Arts at St. Margaret’s and have participated in multiple musicals and dramatic performances. I am proud to be a part of the MedTac family and excited for the opportunities to teach others the critical skills needed for bystander care. As a babysitter, I know the importance of being prepared for a variety of emergency situations, and I am more confident with the knowledge and training I have received through Med Tac. I am eager to share that knowledge with other young people so we can further MedTac’s “All learn, All Teach” philosophy. I am proud and humbled to receive the 2024 Med Tac Global Scholarship.
