If you wish to donate to our broad program or to help support a specific surf break we are working with, you may do so through our GoFundMe mechanism. We will provide the documentation for tax purposes as we are a 501c3 Tax Exempt organization.

There are three options to fund your Adopt a Cove Solution – self funding, sponsorship, and donations. The two two development models are to “do it yourself” or pay for a “turnkey system”.

Self Funding

  • Do it Yourself: If you decide to self fund your program, we can help you take advantage of our community of practice of collaborators and discounts for rescue gear purchasing. Make sure to budget funding for local training of some champions to help drive your cause. We will help you build a budget.
  • Turnkey Solution: If you wish to have us pull the team together to deliver a turnkey program, we can do it. The budget will be determined by the unique design for your break, site, or wave pool. Again, we will help you put a budget together.

Sponsorship

  • Do it Yourself: Again, we will help you build a budget. You need to make sure a financial sponsor has clarity about the program. They may provide all or partial funds for equipment, supplies, or construction. No matter what they fund, make sure you have contingencies if something is delayed or costs more than you thought. Installing anything along the coastline is always fraught with surprises.
  • Turnkey Solution: If you wish to have us develop a turnkey program, we can do it. The budget will be determined by the design and plan. If a sponsor is participating in a full or partial way, we highly recommend you include the cost for online and onsite rescue training. We have found the most economical way of getting certifications with the American Heart Association and American College of Surgeons for cardiac arrest and severe bleeding respectively.

Donations

  • Do it Yourself: If you are in the United States, we recommend you use GoFundMe as a mechanism for donations in order to keep clear records. It will allow you to develop a good pitch and video that may be used to communicate your value proposition. We will help you brainstorm your message. Once you have completed your program, make sure to report the use of funds to your donors. Their trust is vital. And in our experience, they love to get involved in your next steps – such as putting more rescue stations in place.
  • Turnkey Solution: If you wish to have our team work with you on a turnkey program, and you have a donor in mind, we will be pleased to chat with them. Again, use of funds revolves around the configuration of your rescue solution. Once we have that, the budgeting process is very straight forward.
